So, now I have two Gmail accounts with POP access and the third with IMAP access all in Thunderbird with no issues. Of course, I have about 10 other, non-Gmail accounts defined as well. So, there shouldn't be any issue with multiple Gmail accounts, with POP access, being defined in Thunderbird.

Thunderbird does not send an extra SELECT command on the inbox if the last selected location was the inbox. The imap server is supposed to remember the last selected. Appearantly the Charter imap server does not, so when Thunderbird tried to get new messages, the server does not know where to look.
